Jack began dancing at DOB at the age of 9, mostly so he could hang out with his cousin Anna who was also dancing at the time. Needless to say, he fell in love with the studio! He is primarily known as a choreographer at DOB, but has done everything from teaching recreation classes in high school to rhinestoning costumes in the back room at the old studio. His choreography saw a competition stage when he was just 14 years old and choreographed his own solo, and he won his first “Best Choreography” award at the age of 16. Since then, his pieces have received numerous overall, judges choice, and Best of Show awards.
Jackson holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory with an Emphasis in Dance. His Professional Performance credits include: 42nd Street starring Tamara Tunie (The Ordway), Cinderella (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), Kinky Boots and Carousel (Broadway at Sacramento Music Circus), and the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (Best Actor Nominee). Upcoming: Sister Act (Pittsburgh CLO and the Starlight Theatre). He is also slated to Dance Captain and be in the Ensemble of Beauty and the Beast at the Ordway in St. Paul this fall.
He would like to thank Mariya for giving him a place to create art, and his amazing students for being open and willing to put in the work.
